For Spring 2018, many of Dior’s bags featured prints from the feminist Motherpeace tarot deck, and for summer, the bags feature more art made by women: specifically, many of the bags feature prints or beaded work from the archives of French sculptor and painter Niki de Saint Phalle. Dior Spring/Summer Garment Series 2018 was inspired by the creation of Dior Women’s Creative Director MARIA GRAZIA CHIURI. She explored a series of French artists Niki Saint-Far found in the Dior Collection. Photographic works.

 

For this reason, Dior girls wear a variety of colorful accessories inspired by the artist’s sculptures, such as heart-embellished rings, serpentine long necklaces or dotted DIOR TRIBALE earrings.

Everyone in the fashion society knows the Lady Dior Bag. But for the Spring Summer 2018 Collection, the French Fashion House collaborated with Niki de Saint Phalle. Niki was a French-American sculptor, painter and filmmaker. She was one of the few women known for monumental sculpture.

The Design

The Lady Dior Bag has been embellished with one of Niki’s famous work. The design is based on Niki’s Bonn’ poster in 1992. The shape and the basic elements of the Lady Dior has remained the same. The only change that has been made is the front look of the bag.

So take a closer look at the bag; the heart is crafted with mix of beads, threads and jewellery. Inside the heart you will find playful things like footprint, fruit, fish and even a lizard. If you like a less serious version of the Lady Dior, then this will be the perfect choice.

The bag is made from smooth calfskin leather and it comes with a detachable chain in light gold hardware. You can carry the bag on your shoulder, cross body or even with hand.
